GCSE maths revision checklist
Map secure skills and choose a small set of next steps.
Build a topic map
Use the school specification or revision list. Include number, algebra, ratio and proportion, geometry and measures, probability and statistics. Mark topics as secure independently, possible with help or not yet understood. A colour is a planning signal, not a predicted grade.
Test with a question
For each chosen topic, attempt a fresh question without notes. Show working and check the answer. If you need a hint, record the exact step that was difficult. Watching a solution is not the same as solving a new question.
Set this week’s priorities
Choose two or three related skills, practise short sets and review mistakes. Include a delayed check a few days later. Keep one mixed set so that you practise choosing a method, not only repeating it.
Review the plan
Bring the list and marked work to school or tutoring. Revisit the labels after independent practice and update them with evidence. Keep the plan manageable alongside other subjects.
Try this next
Choose one action from this guide, try it on a fresh piece of work and note what you can do independently. Bring the work and one specific question to your teacher or tutor.
A clearer next step

Share the year group, subject and what feels difficult. We’ll discuss suitability, availability and a practical starting point before you commit.
